Hospital Room Scene

WRITTEN ON TUESDAY

So I think we finally reached an agreement on the specifics of the opening. Instead of having a two minute fight scene, we decided to focus on the aftermath of the fight scene. It starts with one of the fighters in a hospital room and a news anchor on the tv reporting on a fight that had occurred the previous night. To prepare for this scene, I researched into making news broadcasts but focused on the auditory part. According to wikihow, the speaker needs to have a strong and steady voice. The anchor needs to have an introduction and then go into a two to four minute news segment. For the terms of this opening, the news broadcast only needs to be 2 minutes MAX. Going back to the steps of the actual opening, we wanted to flash back and forth between the hospital bed and the fight. This is supposed to add background to the character as well as the story. The fighter had to overcome these obstacles for the final fight, the rest of the movie would focus on the totality of the journey. So the opening needs to introduce the beginning of the fighters journey.  In terms of the news anchor, we have to make sure the sound enters and exit in the right scene. We don't want to have a news anchor talking about a fight that happened while the scene is showing the actual fight. Actually, as I am thinking about it now. We could continue the narration of the news anchor during the flashback to the actual fight. The screen would pan from the hospital bed to the fights while the news anchor still talks. Either way the message is the same, it is up to the artists choice which means I need to discuss this options or others options; just to exhaust all possible ways to create this scene in our image.
